PARENTING SUPPORT

Hillingdon Portage Service - A Portage service registered with the National Portage Association

  • An educational home-visiting service for pre-school children 0-5 years with additional needs, living in Hillingdon.
  • Provides for children with a delay in two or more areas of development.
  • May not be appropriate if the child is attending sessions in an early years setting.
  • Aims to support the development of childs play and communication, Social Skills, Movement and Learing, to encourage participation in everyday life.
  • Is committe to promoting inclusion in the wider community for all children and families.
Parenting Support

All schools are encouraged to provide you with access to various kinds of support. Many schools now offer:

parenting skills programmes
information sessions for parents when their children start primary school, when they move to secondary school
information about nationally and locally available sources of advice and support
family learning sessions
child behaviour management courses

Bubbles - A fortnightly learning through play opportunity group for families with children referred to the Portage Service.

Dragonflies - A fortnightly multi-sensory development group, which is avalible for families with children who have multiple learning and or medical needs.
