Queensmead sports centre has a wide verity of activities on offer with a six court sports hall, outdoor netball courts, gym, health suite and activity room.
Sports hallThe large multi-purpose sports hall caters for a wide variety of sporting activities with court markings for 6 badminton courts, netball, 5-a-side football, handball and basketball. In addition, the hall is regularly used for trampolining and table tennis. Gym membershipsA range of very competitive memberships are available including casual and Fitness Plus. You can pay as you go or take out a monthly subscription. Depending on the package you chose benefits include use of the sauna and steam room, personal programmes, inductions and use of the pool at other facilities.Fitness ClassesAll round fitness is best achieved by combining gym programmes with participation in group classes. Classes take place either in the sports hall or the activity room. A range of instructor-led classes is available from boxercise to yoga. Queensmead Sports Centre fitness programmeSauna & steam roomsAfter an energetic workout, nothing is more soothing than a few minutes spent relaxing in our 5-6 seater sauna or steam rooms. Please speak to an advisor for health and safty information. Children's activitiesThe centre organises a number of activities for children and young people. During term time we run junior fitness sessions on Saturdays and Sundays for 12 - 15 year olds. Junior badminton for 8 - 17 yr olds are also run on Saturday mornings. These classes are run as courses and must be booked in advance. A successful trampoline club uses the centre as do a Karate class and dance group. Contact reception for more details. Play schemeQueensmead play scheme is an Ofsted registered play scheme for children aged 5-11 year olds. The play scheme is open during half terms and the main holidays each year, except Christmas. The play scheme operates between 8.50am-3.50pm. From 8.50-9.30am children are registered and from 9.30 all the fun stuff starts! 5 - 7 year olds will be in the under 8 group and those 8 and up will be in the over 8 groups. Throughout the day, all groups will participate in 4 zones twice. Birthday partiesOur exciting birthday parties can be booked at weekends and last for an hour and a half. Standard parties include the bouncy castle and ball games. Trampoline parties are also available. A maximum of 30 children applies (over 5s only). Netball courtsQueensmead boasts four fully floodlit netball courts. Queensmead netball league runs on Monday's & Thursday's with local clubs competing. Charvil netball club run a junior training sessions are every Monday (except Bank Holiday Mondays and during August) from 5.30pm - 7.00pm. Courts are available to hire by the hour.

The play scheme is open during half terms and the main summer holiday each year except Christmas. The play scheme operates between 8.45am - 4.15pm. 5 - 7 year olds will be in the under 8 group and those 8 and up will be in the over 8 groups. Throughout the day, all groups will participate in 4 zones. Pick up is from 3.30pm to 4.15pm. Zone 1 - Arts 'n' CraftsThis area is very popular with children as it allows them to be creative and use their imagination. Every play scheme will have a theme in the arts 'n' crafts area and these have included pirates and princesses, Easter, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, dinosaurs, bugs and many more. It also contains a quiet area for reading. Zone 2 - Free play areaThis zone gives children a chance to use their imagination and play freely. We have games including jenga, hopscotch and many more. Zone 3 - Bouncy castleChildren love this area and there are loads of fun games which we have adapted for the castle! Zone 4 - Ball game areaWe have rounders, cricket, uni-hoc, basketball, rugby and football! If the weather is good we play rounders or football outside. During most play schemes we have visitors come in and provide extra activities, including mosaic workshops, go-karting, visits from the dogs trust or African venari drums!
