Extended School |
|
An extended school is one that provides a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of its students, their families and the wider community. This provides a basis from which we are working to develop the role of schools, with other providers, in promoting the welfare of individual children and contributing to community well being in general. There is a spectrum of forms of extended school, ranging from those developing early activities in, for example, breakfast clubs and after school hours learning, through to those working to develop a range of service outlet. They also enable you and the wider community to make use of the school’s facilities. For example, you could learn more about information and communications technology (ICT) or improve your writing and maths skills. How do you find out more?To find what’s on offer please contact your local school or local Families Information Service on 0800 2 346 346. Information on Extended Schools can be downloaded from here |
