Notes on Individual Subjects Mathematics Ability sets are employed for
teaching purposes.
Science Ability sets are employed for
teaching purposes. Most students follow a course leading
to 2 GCSEs in Science, Core Science and Additional Science.
The most able students follow a triple science course,
leading to GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Information & Communication Technology All students continue studying Information & Communication Technology for the two years of this key stage which leads to a OCR national qualification.
Personal,
Social and Health Education This course which continues from
Years 7 - 9 incorporates Careers Education, Sex Education
and Citizenship.
Religious Education
All students begin studying Religious Education GCSE in year 9. A number of students continue their study of Religious Education in year 10 which leads to either a GCSE Full or Short Course. Half of the year 10 cohort will continue with their study of RE GCSE, whilst the other half will take up Triple Science
